چکیده
Abstract Introduction Our objectives were to compare the 1‐year follow‐up clinical performance of TCu380A intrauterine device (TCu380A‐IUD) and levonorgestrel (LNG) 52‐mg system (IUS) inserted at post‐placental period. Material methods We conducted an open‐label, parallel‐group, randomized trial, 1:1 with pregnant women admitted for childbirth independently mode birth. primary outcome was expulsion up 1 year after placement by type IUD delivery. During follow (42, 90 365 days (±7 days) placement), ultrasound performed evaluate position. Kaplan–Meier log‐rank test used survival curves LNG IUS. Couple‐Years Protection insertion both devices calculated. Results One hundred forty (n = 70) or IUS 70). By end first placement, 38 experienced (27.1%), most them (33/38; 86.8%) within 42 The expulsions significantly higher among users (39.4%) than (22.2%; P .039), those vaginal delivery (43.8%) cesarean (15%; .003). cumulative continuation rate 64.2%, (73.1%) (54.4%; .03), (77.6%) (52%; .00). provided 356.4 Protection. Conclusions Two‐thirds who accepted a still childbirth. However, prevalent reason discontinuation, mainly placement.
